The Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership, a pairing of a business development district and a development corporation, met with city officials to discuss plans to make the developing Clinton Hill street more pedestrian-friendly. The partnership hired Project for Public Spaces to craft the designs for the street while soliciting community input, and is targeting four sections of the street for renewal.  Some attribute the increase in pedestrian activity to a recently approved rezoning. </description>

Brooklyn’s City Planning Director, Purnima Kapur, said that the rezoning will most likely include height restrictions for some buildings and trade-offs between higher building structures on more commercial streets for additional affordable housing units.  </description>
